There are a variety of social activities which Cathedral students
participate in during the school year. A few are listed below.
Academic Tournaments Various academic tournaments, such as speech, math, spelling and computer are sponsored for the students.
Altar servers Altar servers are usually trained in the fourth grade under the direction of the pastor.
Student Council/Leadership
Students in grades 5-8 will have the opportunity to learn and practice
leadership skills. An advisor will work with students to complete a
variety of school activities, services, recognitions or events in which
all grades can participate.
Outdoor School Sixth grade
students will attend a 5-day program at a facility approved by
Multnomah County ESD. The program usually occurs in the spring.
Back to School Family Picnic
Each year in September Cathedral school holds a family picnic for all
Cathedral students and family. We all get together and share some good
food and get to know each other and the new families.
Book Fair Each year in October, a book fair is held for the school library. A great opportunity to support our great library program.
Special Friends' Breakfast The
parents of grades 2 & 5, along with the 8th grade students host a
breakfast where each student brings a selected special friend. This is
normally held in late January.
Spaghetti Dinner & Art Show On the first Thursday in May, the parents of grades K & 6, along with the 7th grade
students put on a great spaghetti dinner where student art is on
dislpay for enjoyment and sharing.
Graduation Reception In
June the 7th grade parents put on a gradutaion reception for our
graduating 8th graders. A grand way to wish farewell and good luck to
our departing student body members.
Depending on interest, some years groups such as Girl Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and Boys, 4-H Club, Boy Scouts are organized.
